On the north bound Interstate 5 freeway a semi-truck caught fire Friday afternoon. A quick response by the Burbank Fire Department got a handle on the truck that was fully involved thus saving the contents in the trailer. Cause is under investigation

Glendale Public Works Sanitation Truck Fire : Glendale and Burbank Fire Department arrive on Sonora Ave just south of Kenennth Rd of a reported vehicle fire. The vehicle on fire was a Glendale Public Works sanitation truck whose contents were engulfed in flames in the hopper. Both Engine 27 and Engine 11 used foam to suppress the fire at the rear of the vehicle. The contents of the truck were then disposed of by Glendale Public Works. Units on scene were Engine 26, Engine 27, E11, RA 26 and Battalion 2. Cause of fire was unknown and there were no injuries reported.
