Every 15 Minutes JBHS Demonstration : Burbank Fire Department and Burbank Police Department hold a demonstration at John Burroughs High School of a drunk driving traffic accident. Along with "arresting" a drunk driver they showed extraction of multiple people from the vehicle along with the Los Angeles Coroner arriving at the scene for the DB's.

Boom Lift Rescue : At 9pm Monday Night a report of 2 people stuck in lift basket boom on a truck, approx. 40 ft. Unable to level basket. USAR units were called in to rescue the 2 workers from the basket. The first attempt was with a 35' ladder which was deemed not safe to use for removal of the 2 workers. After some very tight negotiating up the roadway they used Truck 78 to get the 2 workers down safely. Both were none injured just a little shaken up from being stuck in the lift for over 2 hours.

Water Main Break : At approximately 10:30pm on Saturday August 5,2009 a 62" water main located at Dickens & Coldwater Canyon burst, flooding the surrounding neighborhood with up to 3'+ of water. After several hours DWP was able to shut down the main and divert the water from another resevoir for the area. LAFD evacuated several residences due to flooding and structural damage caused by the immense amount of water. DWP estimates the area to be closed down for repair for several weeks.
